Hinson & Company was established in 1972 by Harry Hinson, as a provider of fabrics, printed and woven; and hand-screened wallcoverings. The brand draws inspiration from historic patterns that are later reinterpreted according to contemporary trends and styles, achieving a level of timeless creations that are well accepted by the international interior design community. The company’s catalog started with just 30 wallpapers and coordinating textiles, but later expanded thanks to a collaboration with renowned designer Pierre Cardin. Hinson was acquired in 2014 by Donghia, Inc., preserving the brand’s vision of reinterpretation of classic patterns. At Inside Stores, we carry the complete collection of Hinson fabric, wallpaper and lighting. Please contact us for pricing or product information. Request a quote.
Hinson fabrics and wallcoverings have become iconic and are now part of different prestigious collections like the Albert Hadley collection, designed in collaboration with the Dean of American decorators; the Lady Bird Johnson National Wildflower Center Foliage Collection; the New American Wing Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; and the Wildflowers of America collection for Lady Bird Johnson’s National Wildflower’s Collection.
The Hinson catalog is available nowadays through Donghia showrooms across the United States and is divided into three different categories: lighting, textiles, and wallcoverings. One of the most popular fabric from Hinson is "Flip", a 100% Viscose, reversible weave, featuring custom, space-dyed yarns used in both warp and weft. The surface is smooth and appears to shiver with movement. Thanks to the double-beam weaving technique, it is possible for the face and reverse sides to have different colorways. This fabric has soil & stain repellents as well as anti-pilling finishes, ensuring maximum usability.
Hinson has been synonymous with classic lighting for over four decades. In 1991 Hinson acquired the Hansen Lamp company along with its iconic swing arm lamp that was designed by George W. Hansen. The lighting fixtures are sought after due to their unique style, high-quality, and admirable craftsmanship. The lamps are made by the finest artisans in the world.
